Antagonist Costume

The costume below follows the description of the previous plan of the Antagonists outfit, however a few minor changes were made. Instead of wearing a hat, a hood is worn over the Antagonist's head in order to create the stereotypical 'gangster' look. In addition to this, we decided that wearing gloves wasn't necessary, as the characters hand gestures and positioning would allow the audience to read his emotions better, as they weren't able to see his face. For example if clenched his fists that would mean that he was tense, which would create tension for the viewers.

Plain Black Trousers

The black trousers were worn to blend in with the rest of the outfit, as it consisted of black attire. This added to the mysterious look, and allowed the Antagonist to camouflage himself into the cool background of the Opening Sequence. We also wanted to ensure that it was believable that the Protagonist didn’t see the Antagonist whilst travelling to see C.I Warnett, therefore we decided that his attire best suited a darker colour.

Patterned Black Hoodie

The idea behind wearing a patterned black hoodie instead of a plain black one allowed the character to be distinguished from any other people wearing a black tracksuit whilst we were filming, as it is a colour that is commonly worn. In addition to this, it adds to the suspicion of the narrative, as the intentions of the character remain unknown throughout the Opening Sequence. The image of the skeleton was also intended to increase the scarcity factor, as this particular figure is known to appear when a person’s life is about to be taken.

Black Leather Shoes

The decision to wear these leather black shoes was a last minute choice, as previously trainers were intended to be worn. The fact that these shoes were worn with a tracksuit suggests that the character doesn’t own a pair of trainers, possibly because they cannot afford them. In addition to this, the narrative demonstrates that the Antagonist was wanted for a previous crime, suggesting that as a result of this they find it hard to receive and maintain a job. As a consequence they have little money to spend on luxury items such as trainers.
